The AMBIO project: 

Antarctic Microbial Biodiversity: importance of geographical and ecological factors

AMBIO (Acronyme for Antarctic Microbial BIOdiversity) is an academic partnership which aims to improve the knowledge of biodiversity of cyanobacteria, bacteria and protists (diatoms and green algae) in Antarctic ecosystems. It involves three partners from 2 belgian universities (see below). AMBIO is an SSD (Science for Sustainable Development) project, funded by the Belgian Federal Science Policy (BELSPO) since the beginning of 2007
